WHITE PAGES TO DISAPPEAR?
Verizon has asked regulators in New York state to allow it to end delivery of the phone book to all of its customers in the state citing a 2008 Gallup survey that found about one in every nine customers ever used the hard-copy listings. AT&T has already received permission to end printing in Florida, Ohio, Oklahoma and Georgia. Will Yellow Pages soon follow?
